BroMenn & Sports Enhancement Center Form Affiliation
Officials of BroMenn Healthcare System and Sports Enhancement Center have announced an affiliation, wherein each entity would own fifty percent of the Center.
Sports Enhancement Center, located at 2406 East Empire Street in Bloomington, was founded by J. Anthony Dustman, M.D. and Robert K. Seidl, M.D. in 1997. Drs. Dustman and Seidl will remain with the Center, which will be renamed "Orthopedic & Sports Enhancement Center, an Affiliate of BroMenn Healthcare," to better reflect the care provided. Orthopedic & Sports Enhancement Center (OSEC) diagnoses, treats and provides rehabilitation therapy for both sports-related and non-sports-related orthopedic injuries, overuse injuries and nerve entrapment issues. It also operates Performance Enhancement programs to assist athletes and sports enthusiasts with training.
Both physicians have moved their full-time orthopedic practices to OSEC as well. "The partnership between OSEC and BroMenn is a perfect match and allows us the resources and expertise to grow our programs," said Dr. Dustman. "The partnership allows Dr. Seidl and me the opportunity to expand the orthopedic care to the whole family."
Dr. Seidl concurs. "By moving our orthopedic practices to OSEC, Dr. Dustman and I will be able to concentrate on one location, improving upon our efficiency and continuity of patient care," he said.
William Brouwer, president of BroMenn Medical Group, added, "For BroMenn, this is a great opportunity to become involved with a highly-regarded, existing center where the focus is on the growing areas of both sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation," he said.
The affiliation is effective immediately. Current clients of OSEC will notice no changes, other than to the Center's name and logo. The OSEC medical staff will soon expand to include additional physicians with specialties in sports medicine and orthopedics.
"The idea of a true partnership between a hospital and physicians is a unique model that I think will work well in improving the medical care," Dr. Dustman said.
