BroMenn Names Doctor of the Year

The annual BroMenn "Doctor of the Year" award was given to Maria R. Rosa, M.D. on April 8 by the employees of BroMenn Healthcare. This award, in honor of the annual Doctor's Day on March 30, was created to recognize the positive relationships between the employees and physicians at BroMenn Healthcare.

Dr. Rosa, a pediatrician with Carle Clinic Bloomington, was chosen as "Doctor of the Year" because of her personable, professional and knowledgeable demeanor. According to one nomination, "She genuinely cares about her patients and always gives them excellent care. She treats all staff members with respect and kindness. She's a great pediatrician."

Dr. Rosa joined the BroMenn Medical Staff in 2002. She earned her medical degree from the Evangelica School of Medicine in Parana, Brazil and completed her residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rosa is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Employees working throughout the BroMenn Healthcare system nominated over 25 physicians. Dr. Rosa was chosen from the top five nominees, which included Robert Bruha, M.D., John Burr M.D., Darryl Fernandes, M.D and Samuel Steffen, M.D. Other physicians nominated include: Peter Abadeer, M.D., Otis Allen, M.D., Chae Chu, M.D., Alan Ginzburg, M.D., Gerardo Grieco, M.D., M. Allan Griffith, M.D., Curtis Hayden, M.D., Christopher Holst, M.D., Sven Klauss, M.D., David Koh, M.D., Ramaprasad Konanur, M.D., James McCriskin, D.O., Sajjad Mueed, M.D., Joel Nilles, D.O., Steven Pilcher, M.D., Wm. Les Ray, M.D., Joseph Santiago, M.D., Thanom Temiyasathit, M.D., James Vales, M.D., Jesse VanLe, M.D., Barry Weaver, M.D. and Witoon Weraarchakul, M.D. From Eureka Community Hospital nominated physicians include: John Kell, M.D. and Mark Mroczko, M.D.
