Gift Puts Eureka Fundraiser Over the Top
Eureka Community Hospital’s Dinner Auction fundraiser hoped to raise $60,000 in its first effort to pay for the eventual purchase of a digital mammography unit for the hospital. Instead, the event brought in an astounding $444,000, thanks in large part to the private donation of a very generous Goodfield couple.

HealthPoint Occ Health Receives Certification
The National Association of Occupational Health Professionals (NAOHP) has awarded BroMenn's HealthPoint Occupational Health Program a three-year Quality Certification Award under its Occupational Health Site Certification Program. HealthPoint is the first clinic in Illinois to receive the certification.

BroMenn’s Diabetes Education Programs Recognized
The Diabetes Services offered at both BroMenn Regional Medical Center and Eureka Community Hospital were recently awarded the prestigious American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate. The certification indicates that the ADA acknowledges that BroMenn and Eureka’s programs offer high-quality diabetes self-management education, which is an essential component of effective diabetes treatment.

BroMenn Opens Neurology Practice
BroMenn Physicians Management Corporation has opened BroMenn Neurology Associates in the BroMenn Medical Office Building, 1302 Franklin Avenue, Suite 2100, in Normal, IL. Caring for patients at the new practice is neurologist Sajjad Mueed, M.D., most recently of Natchez, Mississippi. Dr. Mueed completed his Neurology residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, Illinois. He went on to complete fellowships in Epilepsy & Clinical Neurophysiology and Stroke & Cerebrovascular Disease at the same institution.

Dr. Schmidt comes to HealthPoint as an experienced Family Physician with over 17 years of private practice in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois. There he cared for people of all ages and had a special interest in treating patients with urgent and chronic conditions. He previously worked in urgent care at St. Mary’s Hospital and at Decatur Memorial Hospital, both in Decatur, Illinois.

Anthony J. Zachria, D.O., of Houston, TX, and formerly of Morton, IL, recently joined the medical staff at Illinois Heart & Lung Associates in Normal and Pontiac. A specialist in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, Dr. Zachria recently completed a Fellowship program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he also performed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine.

Mark P. Mroczko, M.D., of Peoria, recently joined the medical staff at Town & Country Healthcare, located at 105 South Major Street in Eureka. Dr. Mroczko received his degree in medicine from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood. He went on to complete his residency at the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Peoria.
